Army Renews Radio Broadcast Network

March 27 – A communications adviser to the Ministry of Defense reported Ukrainian Army radio station Armia FM is renewing its broadcasts. Oleksiy Makukhin said at a briefing in the Ukraine Crisis Media Center that the network will continue to produce quality, substantive content for both the military and civilians in the Donbas conflict area.

Civilian and military cooperation, checkpoint regulations, social payments, and defense and law enforcement cooperation are a sample of the topics to be covered and discussed on air, according to Makukhin. Armia FM programming covers breaking local and international news and, on Saturdays, features a unique satirical program covering the Donetsk and Luhansk Peoples’ Republics with Michael Schur (pseudonym of Roman Vintoniv). Vintoniv is a popular Ukrainian anchor who used to work at UA:Pershy and then served in the Ukrainian army in the east during the Donbas war.
