Draft law would amend Law on Advertising and complement Ukrainian media legislation

April 18 – Draft law No.9206, which would bring the Law on Advertising into alignment with European audiovisual directive, was registered in parliament. The draft law’s authors include Mykyta Poturayev, the head of the parliamentary Committee of Humanitarian and Information Policy, and member of parliament Yevheniya Kravchuk. Poturayev said that the bill is complementary to the Law on Media, as it “defines the terms ‘product placement,’ provides for self- and co-regulation in advertising, and bans advertising of residents of the aggressor state.” The complete draft is available online and will be considered by the Committee of Humanitarian and Information Policy on April 20, 2023.
