Eighth Annual “Honor of Profession” Journalism Contest
February 28 – The Independent Association of Broadcasters (IAB) announced members of this year’s jury for the Eighth Annual “Honor of Profession”, which recognizes professional journalism in Ukraine. The IAB set a March 31 deadline for contestant applications.
Reporting published or aired throughout 2016 is eligible for award recognition.
Awards in the following five reporting categories will be presented after jury consideration: Best Public Affairs Reporting; Best Representation of Current Events; Best Investigative Reporting; Best Complex Topic Reporting; and, the “Hope of Journalism” award recognizing young journalists.
Oleksiy Shalayskyi of Nashi Hroshi, Otar Dovzhenko of the Ukrainian Catholic University, Svitlana Ostapa of Detector Media are the three-jury members who were selected by the IAB. Others will be identified and selected later.
The “Honor of Profession” award ceremony is funded by the USAID Internews U-Media program, the Swedish International Development and Cooperation Agency and the United Nations Development Program in Ukraine. The event is scheduled for May 19 and the location in Ukraine is being finalized.
