Institute of Mass Information Announces Training on Conflict Reporting for Journalists

June 30 – The Institute of Mass Information announced a three-day training for journalists on first aid, safety, and ethical reporting for journalists reporting on conflict-related topics. The training agenda was designed to meet the needs of the media community as identified in the IMI online survey of journalists on their preparedness to report from the frontlines in the event of an escalation in the conflict in the east of Ukraine. The training will include practical exercises, such as simulated attacks, detentions, evacuations, and injuries. Two training sessions will be held in-person between July 14 and 16 and 20 and 22 at the conference venue and in the field. Kyiv-based journalists who already report or plan to report from the conflict zone are invited to apply. Journalists are invited to apply following this link before July 8. IMI will announce trainings for regional journalists later this year.
