Monitoring Shows Gender Sensitivity is Improving in Hyperlocal Media
August 25 – Volyn Press Club (VPC) published on its website the August results of its gender monitoring of journalistic print and online publications in 24 regions of Ukraine.
According to its analysis of publications from August 11 to 17, VPC experts recorded an increase in the gender sensitivity index of hyperlocal media in August to 42%, compared to April’s 38% and June’s 39%.
According to VPC experts, the increase was the result of the increased use of the proper forms in referring to women in media texts and an increase in stories that quote women experts.
