MPU Supports Training on Economic Reforms for Regional Journalists
September 20 -The Centre for Excellence in Economic Journalism at Kyiv School of Economics (KSE) launched a year-long series of trainings on economic and business journalism for 30 journalists, supported by USAID’s Media Program in Ukraine implemented by Internews.
The trainings cover financial reporting and economy-related reforms, and specifically reforms in the finance sector, pension system, decentralization, the land market, energy, and the healthcare system.
Trainers will use the principles of data-driven journalism in teaching regional journalists how to produce engaging content about economic reforms, how to fight against disinformation and produce high quality reliable stories about economics and finance.
Training sessions will be followed by mentoring, online tests and group projects for the participants who will produce at least 30 multimedia stories about economic reforms with a focus on important issues for local communities and challenges in the implementation of reforms at the local level. The journalism trainees will publish their stories in regional media.
