National Council Names UA:PBC TV the Leader in Ukrainian Language Broadcasting

October 13 – The National Council on TV and Radio Broadcasting stated in its monitoring report for August 30-September 5, 2021 that UA:PBC’s UA:Pershyi and UA:Culture TV channels broadcast 100% of their programs in Ukrainian language. The monitoring list included 28 national TV channels.

According to article 10 of the law On Television and Radio Broadcasting, national TV broadcasters must air no less than 75% of their programs (including movies) in Ukrainian, and no less than 75% of news programs must be in Ukrainian.

The National Council named among the other leaders in Ukrainian language broadcasting such TV channels as K2, Indigo, Mega, M1, Xsport, Rada, Prayamyi, TET, PlusPlus, Pixel TV, Enter Film, Channel 4 and ZOOM. Channel 5, Espresso, and Ukraine 24 broadcast 96-99% of their programs in Ukrainian, and ICTV and NTN 81% each. All of the named channels broadcast news in Ukrainian only.
