Ombudsman appeals to Reznikov over revoked accreditations
November 14 – Commissioner for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets made an appeal to Minister of Defense Oleksiy Reznikov demanding the restoration of accreditation for the Ukrainian and foreign journalists who covered Kherson immediately after liberation.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine has a department that controls media access during wartime. Lubinets says that there is insufficient communication between the department and international media whose work is crucial for citizens of allied countries to observe how tax-funded weapons and humanitarian programs work. “Cancellation of accreditation is unacceptable in these conditions,” Lubinets wrote on his Telegram channel.
On November 13, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine revoked at least six journalists’ accreditations because they allegedly violated war zone regulations.
