Russian propaganda actively promoting talk of negotiations

November 3 – Russian propagandists are actively promoting talk of negotiations according to the Center for Countering Disinformation (CCD) within the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine. CCD specialists found statements demonstrating that Russian high-ranking officials and media support negotiations led by Russia and Putin, specifically.

The National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine said that these statements draw a lot of attention but noted that Russia insists on negotiations according to their conditions. “Such statements are aimed at a Western audience to show that it is Ukraine which doesn’t want to end the war. Through negotiations, Russia plans to suspend warfare to increase its military potential and continue the occupation of Ukraine,” the CCD said.

The only situation where negotiations with Russia are possible involves the immediate end of the war against Ukraine and the withdrawal of Russian troops beyond the Ukrainian borders established in 1991.
