UA:PBC Regional Radio Affiliates Launch “After the Front,” a Radio Journal of Veterans’ Stories
September 29 – Eight regional radio stations of Ukrainian Radio (UA:PBC) in Odesa, Lviv, Cherkasy, Kropyvnytskyi, Vinnytsia, Chernihiv, Kherson, and Kharkiv produced the first program of the radio journal “After the Front.” According to the press service of UA:PBC, the radio journal combines stories in various formats (portraits, essays, and reportages) about veterans of the Russia-Ukraine war from different parts of Ukraine.
During the half-hour broadcast, listeners will travel through different Ukrainian regions and get acquainted with Russia-Ukraine war veterans who, after returning home, started their own businesses. Veteran stories are grouped thematically according to their civilian work, and the groupings are given military titles such as “Entrepreneurial Battalion,” “Educational Battalion,” and “Agrarian Battalion.”
The team of “Ukrainian Radio Odesa” initiated the project, and the first program was aired at 5:10 p.m. on September 26 in Odesa. The radio journal will air once a month. Other regional affiliates of UA:PBC will broadcast “After the Front” in the near future.
