With a major new program award from USAID, we are looking to hire a number of new staff members to our Team in Ukraine.

We are seeking candidates for the following positions: 

Grants Manager 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

• Provide administrative support to Internews grantees in filing narrative and financial reports. Ensure compliance of reports with grant agreements.

• Check if grantees’ expenses and supporting documentation are in accordance with Ukrainian legislation and donor’s requirements.

• Verify necessary accounting documentation under grant agreements.

• Report errors and inconsistencies in grantees’ narrative and financial reports.

• Coordinate approvals of grantees’ narrative and financial reports by Internews program and financial managers.

• Work with the Grants Director on processing necessary documents in adherence with grantees’ agreements, and grantees database maintenance.

• Perform clerical duties in Internews grants administration process if needed.

• Adhere to appropriate Internews office procedures, as well as donor policies and procedures when applicable.

• Any other duties as required by Internews project priorities and management.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

• Relevant Master’s degree or equivalent work experience;

• Excellent knowledge of media environment in Ukraine;

• Minimum of two years of grant management experience in international technical assistance programs;

• Excellence in English, Ukrainian and Russian.

 

Program Manager 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

• Provide programmatic and administrative support to the implementation of Internews projects in Ukraine;

• Serve as primary point of contact to a group of Internews’ sub-grantees (media organizations and outlets) to ensure adherence to sub-grant activities and timely reporting;

• Provide professional advice to local partners on program implementation, communicating with media, work with volunteers, and sustainability planning;

• Communicate branding and marking guidance to sub-grantees and ensure sub-grantee compliance;

• Contribute on a daily basis to weekly, quarterly and other forms of reporting;

• Contribute to Internews’ research and collecting information for new project proposals;

• Other duties as assigned by Internews management.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

• Relevant Master’s degree or equivalent work experience;

• Excellent knowledge of media environment in Ukraine;

• Minimum of two years of program coordination and communications experience in international technical assistance programs;

• Excellence in English, Ukrainian and Russian.

 

Office Manager 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

• Provide administrative support to Internews office, including relocation to another venue, purchasing necessary equipment and supplies, communication with the office building administration;

• Coordinate Internews meetings and events;

• Provide basic IT support to Internews office;

• Coordinate staff’s travels;

• Provide Internews’ clients with general advice on the organization’s activities in Ukraine;

• Organize networking events and maintain continuing communication with Internews partners;

• Assist Chief of Party (COP), Deputy Chief of Party (DCOP), and program managers in daily administrative and programmatic work;

• Assist communication manager in maintenance of Internews in Ukraine website;

• Other duties as assigned by Internews management.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

• Relevant Master’s degree or equivalent work experience;

• Minimum of two years of work in international environment, preferably for technical assistance programs;

• Communications, translation skills, grants management, good networks within civil society/media organizations will be considered an advantage;

• Excellence in English, Ukrainian and Russian.

 

Secretary-Translator 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

• Provide everyday administrative support for Internews office;

• Assists Office Manager in coordination of Internews meeting and event logistics;

• Interpret at Internews’ meetings and events;

• Answer phone calls;

• File administrative documents;

• Assist COP, DCOP, and program managers in daily administrative work;

• Make translations for Internews finance and grant management department;

• Make translations/interpreting, if assigned by Internews management;

• Other duties as assigned by Internews management.

 

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

• Relevant Master’s degree or equivalent work experience;

• Minimum of two years of work as a translator, preferably for technical assistance programs;

• Excellence in English, Ukrainian and Russian.

Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) Officer     

 

GENERAL FUNCTION:

The M&E Officer’s key responsibilities are to manage and continually improve the Internews monitoring and evaluation system measuring the overall impact and results of Internews projects. The Specialist will manage the Monitoring & Evaluation Plans (MEPs) to ensure that Internews projects utilize a systematized evaluation framework and coordinate with all Internews partners to measure results accordingly, including gender equity, inclusiveness and other mandatory factors. The M&E Officer will work with the Program Managers to track, synthesize and organize data into reports, the Officer will also work with Internews partners to build and improve their monitoring and evaluation capacities.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

• Ensure that the MEPs for Internews projects are well designed, adequately implemented and that the results are distributed appropriately;

• Manage procurement of research companies that will design and implement target research to develop MEP indicators;

• Oversee consistent application of the Internews projects’ MEPs, ensuring that all sub-awards include well-designed monitoring and evaluation plans which utilize realistic and relevant indicators and targets (including gender and inclusiveness mandatory factors);

• Assist in managing Internews program components  with a special focus on monitoring and evaluation;

• Ensure that data is synthesized and updated for inclusion in reports to donors;

• Manage the routine and systematic collection of data from all sub-grantees in accordance with their grant agreements;

• Other duties as assigned by Internews management including communication and grant management tasks.

 

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

• Relevant Master’s degree or equivalent work experience;

• Minimum of two years of monitoring and evaluation experience in international technical assistance programs;

• Experience in program management with international organizations;

• Demonstrated understanding of the political and economic situation in Ukraine;

• Excellence in writing in  English, Ukrainian and Russian;

• Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills;

• Ability to work under strict deadlines;

• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office.
